Darling Point Cafes

If you ask us, the Eastern suburbs of Sydney are some of the best places in the world to live, work and play. As part of an ongoing series, we explore some of the cafes that add to the lifestyle of the eastern suburbs. While these aren’t the only cafes, these are the go-to coffee & cake cafes for the Amanda Banton team when they are in Darling Point.

Richie’s Cafe

1C New Beach Rd, Darling Point NSW

An old convenience store, now a friendly café with great food and service. Richie is a super friendly host and visit often enough & you’ll be on first name terms. Richie’s has a great Delivery menu but it’s also a wonderful place to sit with a coffee over breakfast. Richie’s coffee is a top-quality Italian blend – very tasty! This is a popular spot with locals and you can see why – the menu changes daily but it’s always interesting and you are sure to find something you like. Richie’s is a real family affair – his mum and pet chihuahua are always there too – so it’s a great sport to take your family too.

The Navy Bear

1C New Beach Rd, Darling Point NSW

If you judge a café on the crowd, The Navy Bear will rate highly. And best of all, the crowds don’t slow down or impact the quality of the service. The staff are super friendly and make sure tables are properly sanitized in between all those crowds. The view is spectacular but it’s the food that will take you back there again and again. Whether a granola bowl for breakfast or fish tacos for lunch, the food is always fresh and tasty. Say hello to Sandy & ask for a coffee recommendation – she won’t steer you wrong. Should also mention that The Navy Bear is dog friendly, so there’s no problem taking your fur baby!

Flybridge Cafe

1B New Beach Rd, Darling Point NSW

A café with beautiful views and food to match. The staff are welcoming and their service is as good. Whether you are there for breakfast or brunch, the menu has something for everyone. The Veggie breakfast is a real treat but you can also go with French toast if you want a sweeter option. Seafood is a real specialty at Flybridge if you are there for brunch – the Seafood platter is a great option to share but there are also fresh salads which are to die for. Flybridge is the type of café that once you’ve tried, you’ll return to time and again.
